For Use On : Fires involving flammable liquids (oils, fats, solvents etc) and electrical equipment - collectively known as Class B fires. Smothering a fire in a stream of pressurised CO2 (carbon dioxide) cuts the supply of oxygen. Harmless to electrical equipment, which makes CO2 fire extinguishers ideal for use in offices and other locations containing sensitive equipment. 

Not suitable for : Use outside as extinguishing media is easy blown away by the wind. On Class A fires, as the materials on fire such as wood, paper or carpet require the heat source to be reduced to combat the self re-ignition of the fire.
